What colours mean: Red

RED!
red girls

Red is the warmest colour.
It represents courage, power and just like a red rose: love. People who are extroverted often choose red for clothing, accessories and room decoration. If you are the leader of a group and are preparing for a class presentation, wear something red. You’ll get the attention of the audience, and psychologically you’ll be filled with the energy and confidence to do your best.

A touch of red goes a long way!
This is very important. Since some reds can be very strong, too much can be overpowering. In fact, too much red can even stimulate restlessness and bursts of anger. Small doses of red are much more effective and tasteful; a red scarf, a cute red stuffed animal on your backpack or that perfect red skirt or top.

Creative thought can be inspired by red. Need a spicy make over for your bedroom? Try a couple of pillows and a fleecy throw in reds, pinks and oranges or frame your mirror or computer screen in red fabric. Red gemstones are gorgeous and are said to add strength and vitality as well as promoting will power and courage. Try gluing them to frames or journal covers.

If you suffer from bad dreams or anxiety, wear a red coral pendant red ring to bed!

Red out there...
Intersections can be dangerous, that’s why stop signs and stop lights are red. They attract the attention of drivers and pedestrians and keep them alert. Red says ‘warning’. Ambulances and police vehicles use their flashing red lights to warn us to move over and let them pass as they are dealing with an emergency situation.

Here’s a fun way to tell if tomorrow will be a nice day, remember this verse: ‘Red sky at night, sailor’s delight, red sky at morning, sailors warning’. Try it, it works! Picture a blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds and below that, a huge field of tall grass and hundreds of red poppies swaying in the breeze. Add a few black cows that are serenely munching on the sweet grass and wearing brass bells around their necks and you will catch a glimpse of one of my most colourful childhood memories.
