About Jen Serdetchnaia, Newmarket, ON. Jen is working on her Bachelor's degree in health policy and Chinese Mandarin at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She originally moved to Canada from Belarus at the age of nine. "I have traveled in Europe, Canada and the United States, I have stayed in Québec City for two summers in high school and spent four months last year volunteering in a clinic in Ecuador. I feel very fortunate to enjoy the Canadian standard of life."

Something unique about Jen: "I play the tuba and the trombone and I speak Russian, French and Spanish. I’d like to become a doctor."

Jen's passion: Reading, writing, traveling and volunteering.

Jen's message: "Never stop exploring outside of your comfort zone."
