Real Girl: Aayat

Age: 12   Grade:  8   Sign: Leo

Faves: My favourite colour of all time is 'green'. My favourite food is pizza and STEAK and my fave place is Dubai because almost all my family from my dad's side is there. My favorite people are my family and friends. My favorite music is either r&b or hip hop but I also like some techno. (: My fave musician is Katy Perry, fave actor and actress is Taylor Lautner and Jennifer Aniston. My fave sports are soccer and basketball and I also enjoy playing volleyball. My fave season is summer. :) My fave holiday is Eid! I love hanging out with my friends and watching movies. =)

Hobbies: I love to play soccer, basketball and volleyball. I like to hang-out with my friends, chill at the mall and catch the latest movie with them. I LOVE to read, and spend time with my family. I don't mind school, but it's not my FAVOURITE place to be.

School and Stuff: My favourite subject is Math. Some clubs and committees I'm in are: S.T.A.R. (Students together against racism), School Band and the Glee club. I like school, but I find some classes are boring, like Language and Science, because Language is the first 2 subjects every morning, and my science teacher speaks with one voice tone which bothers me. I dislike the fact that I have to wake up at 6:45 AM every school day.

Personality: My friends and family would probably say I am talkative because I talk A LOT and I'm pretty sure I can go on for 10 minutes straight. They would also say I am outgoing and fun to be around because I laugh a lot, and I like to have a good time and I cherish all the great moments I have with them. Another thing they might say is that I am annoying :) LOL! But, I don't mind that. :P

Life Challenge: When I was 11 (Grade 6), I broke my leg playing basketball. I usually NEVER cry in front of people because I think it makes me seem "weak", and that was one of the times I actually did cry. When I broke my leg, I broke it in two places, and the two bones I fractured were the Tibia and Fibula. The first week, I had to sleep in my living room, because it hurt me too much to go up the stairs and my parents were scared I would step on my foot. It was one of the hardest things ever to sleep with a broken leg because you have to sleep in a specific position throughout the whole night. I couldn't go to school for two weeks, but I was okay with it, since I was basically crying myself to sleep. I had to take some medicine which made me drowsy, so that I wouldn't feel the pain of my leg. The medicine was disgusting, and my head would start pounding from it. My day went by very slowly, and this is how I spent it: Playing BrickBreaker on my mother's blackberry. It wasn't that fun & it made my head hurt even more. The day after I broke my leg, I had to get my temporary cast changed into a permanent cast. Instead, the hospital made the decision to keep me overnight for a Closed-Reduction surgery. My mother stayed with me through the night. One of the scariest things was every time I closed my eyes, I would imagine myself falling & feeling my bones break inside of me. After I got home, I started doing my normal stuff again but I had to take it easy on myself. I couldn't play sports and do anything I wanted to, so instead I practiced my crutching until my armpits started hurting. Well, it turned out my aunt's wedding was in the middle of me having my cast on and I was the FLOWERGIRL! So, it was majorly hard to crutch down the aisle and wear heels and a dress at the same time. It made me feel sad, and furious and mostly depressed until I got my cast off. Even though I hated my cast and everything, - It was an AMAZING experience for me-. I got to experience the life of being crippled and at my school I got an elevator key which was pretty cool :) My message to all of you is this: Think about the Positives, Not the Negatives, and it will help you go through anything. Have faith in yourself.

So Aayat: Things that are sooo me :) Sleeping in, being late, getting in trouble in class for talking to much, or laughing, NEVER being shy, usually wearing my famous bunn (hairstyle), studs (earrings), green & purple are colours that I think represent me, My Favourite Phrase: Fish are friends not FOOD! -Nemo., Life of the party & never Quiet :)

Cool fact about Aayat: My special talent is playing soccer or gymnastics. My nationality is Canadian. My family tradition is having a HUGE party when it's the first time someone flies on a plane. I've been to the U.S, Dubai, England and Germany. I can type without looking.

Future: I want to be a police-woman or teacher, or maybe even a TV talk show host. :)

Pet Peeves: I strongly dislike LONG fingernails or scratching your nails on a blackboard! It's so irritating!
