Real Girl: Evangeline

Age: 14 Grade: 10 Sign: Capricorn

Faves: My fave food is sushi for all its flavours and textures, but my Dad makes this amazing pasta dish with chicken broth and parmesan cheese that once my friends taste it, they always ask for it when they come to my house. My favourite song at the moment is "For the First Time" by the Script and for fun, my favourite celebrity is Justin Bieber and watching his career and everything happening with him. The best season for me is summer because I love to swim, surf, and snorkel and hang out with my friends but most of all; I get to go to camp. My favourite team sport is soccer, and I snowboard in the winter. Best vacations have been in Kauai, Hawaii, yet I loved London and Paris too.

Hobbies: I love singing, playing the guitar, piano and writing songs. I like hanging out with my friends and turning up the music as loud as it can go and singing and dancing along with it.

School and Stuff: I really enjoy English, Science, Geography and History because there is always a story there and my teachers in Grade 8 were really chills. I have won some awards for my poems and stories and recorded some of my songs on YouTube. I get a thought and get it on paper.

Personality: I love embarrassing myself because I find it really funny... my friends say I’m really caring and I love to have fun. I love hearing about other people’s stories and their most embarrassing moments so we can have a laugh.

Life Challenge: I’ve been in disagreements with friends but one thing that I have learned is not to judge someone until you’ve walked in their shoes. My philosophy is “When something bad happens, you have three choices. You can let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let it strengthen you.”

Proud of: I performed in a small concert and I’m proud that I had the courage to go through with it and sing my songs in front of people. My songs are very personal and to share them is sometimes hard to do. I have my Bronze Medallion for swimming and look forward to earning my Bronze Cross.

So Evangeline: I do wear makeup because I like it and my friends like me to do their makeup too. I learned to do it really well from watching videos on YouTube and experimenting. I love having sleepovers and sleeping in, and watching movies. BTW, I do not have my ears pierced and am in no hurry to do it.

Cool Fact about Evangeline: I love surfing. We are lucky to go to Kauai every other year and the waves are sick. It’s so beautiful there, I love hanging out in the ocean and at the beach.

Future: I would like to do something artistic, perhaps a singing career.

Pet Peeves: I hate it when people say lol. I’m not sure why I just do.
