Real Girl: Sara
Age: 13 Grade: 8 Sign: Scorpio
Favourites: My favourite colour is purple, I love the Disney character Tinkerbell, my favourite sports are skiing and curling, I love to sing, my favourite food is my grandma's broccoli casserole, and my favourite place to go is Prince Edward Island. Most of my family lives in PEI and I have some in the US, some in BC, and the rest in Ontario. I have two brothers. One is 10 and the other is my twin. I’m really, really close my with twin brother. I also have a great relationship with both my parents, but I can get away with way more stuff with my Dad.
Hobbies: Sewing, singing, scrap booking and camping.
School & Stuff: I’m on school Battle of the Books team, and I’m also on the school curling team. My favourite subjects are Music, Science, English and History.
Personality: I’m usually a happy, optimistic person who laughs a lot. My mom says I talk too much and friends say I'm a little quirky. I'm not afraid to do something different in the crowd and I like to be original.
Life Challenge: When I was younger I was bullied by a group of girls. There were many days I didn’t want to go to school. I don't really know why they bullied me... they ignored me, picked on me, and made me feel really upset about myself. Sometimes I would come home crying. My mom and dad said I should just be myself no matter what. Getting through that I learned to be true to myself and not let others change what I want to be. My message to other girls going through the same thing is: don't listen to the bullies and just be who you want to be!
Proud of: I am proud that last year we won our event in the Provincial Curling Bonspiel. I am also proud that I received my Lady Baden-Powell award at Girl Guides and I'm close to getting my Canada Cord.
So Sara: Always being the first to fall asleep at sleepovers, my clothes never matching, having cold feet, and reading all the time (I LOVE to read) is SOOO ME!
Cool Fact about Sara: I'm older than my twin brother by 1 minute, I spend two weeks every summer in PEI, and I have a sea glass collection.
Future: I want to travel to Egypt to see the pyramids, go to the University of PEI and become an elementary school History and Geography teacher. I would like to see my twin brother curl for Team Canada in the Olympics and I would like to be on the show ‘The Amazing Race’ with my brother.
Pet Peeves: People who pretend to be someone they are not and people who talk during movies.
