Real Girl Isabella

Age: 13  Grade: 8th  Sign: Cancer

Favourites: I love the colours orange and green. My favourite foods are chocolate, watermelon and lasagna. I love dancing and I do jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and lyrical. My favourite TV show is ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. I also love Christmas and sleep overs.

Hobbies: I have many interests including competitive dancing, playing the piano, track and field, tae kwon do, and soccer. I am also working towards my Bronze Star in swimming so I can lifeguard. I enjoy going shopping, going to the movies with my friends and participating in talent shows and dances.

School & Stuff: My favourite subjects in school are Language Arts and Religion. I enjoy these subjects because my teacher is fantastic! I am excited about being a teenager and getting looked up to by the younger kids in my school, but I’m also terrified about going into Grade 9. Right now I am looking forward to our Grade 8 Quebec City trip, my Confirmation and my graduation. It’s important to me to work hard to get good grades in school.

Personality: I am a very creative person and am very open-minded. I come from a very large, close-knit family; we are all very supportive of each other. My friends would describe me as respectful, fun to be with and very encouraging. I am kind to others, I have a positive personality and I am always as helpful as I can be.

Life Challenge: One of the biggest challenges I have had to face so far is with friendships. I had two best friends from grade two on and in grade seven everything changed. We got into a huge fight and we are no longer friends. It was challenging, however my teacher and parents were there for me and they believed in me. With their support I was able to move on.

Proud of: I am most proud of the experience I had when a friend and I choreographed a dance in the school play – The Velveteen Rabbit. I am also proud of being chosen to perform as a dancer at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. I placed 46th out of 200 dancers. I am also proud of being short.

So Isabella: Being hungry all the time, being totally coordinated with clothes, sleeping in, dancing, and laughing are sooo me!

Cool Fact About Isabella: I love to travel. I have been to Florida and to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. I got to meet Blake from ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ – that was exciting! Another cool fact about me is that my brother and I were born one day and two years apart.

Future: My dream is to be on stage or on television dancing or directing. Until I can accomplish this I would like to be a primary school teacher – I love kids!
