Fall Fashion
Faux Pas

What to wear and what to avoid!

Cover up!

DO
keep warm and well covered. There is nothing tackier than over-exposure, particularly in sub-zero temperatures.

Less is more!
Too many patterns and colours can make the people around you feel nauseous. DO pick one bright colour as an accent and play it up. If you’re wearing black and white, throwing in a red scarf or purse can liven things up. But DON’T get carried away, sometimes too may matching accessories can just look like you’re trying too hard.

Beware the blah!
DON’T
mix too many neutrals. You don’t want to look like a part of the landscape. Just because the summer has wound down, doesn’t mean your colour palette has to. While darker colours are expected for fall and winter, bright splashes of colour or warm vibrant shades are still welcome. Rich golds and deep reds pop with shades of brown. Purples contrast beautifully with black.

Tone it down!
If you went platinum blonde for summer, DO try taking it down a few notches for fall. There is no law that says fall=auburn, but as your wardrobe colours change, your hair might benefit from a change too. Rich browns and reds work with bold warm highlights, which are gorgeous for the season. Stay away from strips of colour, natural is the way to go.

Close the toes!
It is never ok to wear nylons and sandals! So DON’T even think about it. When the cold weather hits, say “goodbye” to the peek-a-boo toes, and say “hello” to closed-toe shoes.

Let’s see you!
Just because its darker outside doesn’t mean your makeup has to. Natural and fresh is a great look for every season. People want to see you, not your make-up, so DO keep that in mind when you apply.
