Locks and Lashes Fan Mail - Being Successful and SHORT!
LOCKS and LASHES, January 2010, by Angela Gina Pirrera
Being Successful
and SHORT
Dear Angela,
I love the Behind the Scenes pictures of you guys, I want that to be me one day (I have that picture on my Role Model poster at school)! I love ALL Locks and Lashes writers. From the picture you look the shortest (and so pretty) and I'm short too. I have some problems with bullying about my height and my teacher said I should find people who are successful and short to get some confidence that I can do it too. You're perfect because I want to be a professional makeup artist like you, and you get to work for a magazine about girls can do anything! Did you ever get teased and did you always love makeup?

Hi Desiree...
Thank you for writing in... its so great to hear from you!!
The other Locks and Lashes girls and I are honoured to be on your Role Model poster at school and we love hearing from all GCDA readers!!
Its true, I am the smallest of the Locks and Lashes team and I love it!!! My size is something I love about myself.. and you should love it about yourself, too! Yes, I've always loved the arts; makeup artistry and hair styling have been a true passion of mine for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I enjoyed "glamifying" my family and friends every chance I had and I just knew I would be a Professional Makeup Artist one day. Today, I am living my dream because I never let me size hold me back from my reaching my goals.
Although Julia, Melissa, Stephanie and I are very different, our passion for makeup and hair is what brought us together. We all bring something very unique and special to the Locks and Lashes team. We care for each other and no matter what size, we respect one another and thats what true friends do!
So embrace your size and love every inch of yourself! Stand strong and remember.. GREAT THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES ;)
