Favourites: I love the TV shows 'The Game' and 'The Hills'. My favourite colours are purple, red and black, I am addicted to sunflower seeds, I like Iced Caps, and I love Home Burgers and strawberry milkshakes from Lick's. My favourite music is R&B and I like watching chick flicks.

Hobbies: I like texting and my mom says I'm a textaholic! I'm always on the phone and it's always near me. I like shopping, going to parties and hanging out with my friends. I spend time with my family, I enjoy singing, writing, watching movies, and gardening. I also work at a hair salon so I like doing hair styles for my friends and family.

School & Stuff: I'm trying to take school very seriously this year. I slacked off in previous years where I didn't really care about my marks, but now I try really hard to do well. School didn't seem fun or important at the time when I was younger, but when I got into the higher grades I realized that it all counts. I know it will help me in the future so I need to take it seriously. I really like writing and I've started to write a book that I may publish when I get older. It's about high school trials and adventures. I only have one year left of high school so I'm trying to decide on what I want to be when I grow up. I just want to do so many different things like writing or journalism, hair and aesthetics, or maybe be a child youth worker.

Personality: My friends and family would say I'm more quiet and laid back. They would agree that I'm helpful, very sensitive, thoughtful, lazy, easy going, funny and creative.

Life Challenge: Losing friends has been my biggest challenge. High school has been rough because sometimes I lose friends, or gain new ones. It's been tough dealing with rumours, boys and trying to get my G1. I haven't got it yet but I'm studying really hard and I know I'll get it one day! My message to other girls is that there can be a lot of stress on your shoulders throughout high school and you just have to go one step at a time to progress towards your goals. With friends, you lose some and win some and life goes on. Rumours in school are hard not to listen to and not to care about what other people say, what you think is true is what you should believe. Try not to cry over guys. It's very similar to the challenges with friends and rumours - you have to be careful and cautious. Just focus on what you're good at so you have something to concentrate on other than people bothering you or on family issues.

Proud of: I'm proud of the fact that I use my own mind and am not a follower. Girls talk a lot when you're in a certain crowd! I used to follow that but now I see it for what it is. I have friends who are not so much like that now and I'm not as judgmental about how people look or act. I have learned to use my own mind by just listening to what I think is right. I'm also proud of my family. We're all very close and I am especially close with my brother Jahvon. I can tell him anything. My mom is very supportive of me and always by my side. She teaches me to set good goals and have good morals, and she teaches me right from wrong. My dad is a very hard worker and wants the best for all of us. I have a younger brother and sister who are 6 and 2, and they are little trouble makers! I babysit them a lot.

So Shanessi: Eating sunflower seeds, listening to R&B, writing, singing, wearing mascara, acrylic nails, shopping, texting and hair styling are SO ME!!

Cool Fact about Shanessi: I like to use my hands a lot. I write, paint, draw, sketch fashion designs, write music lyrics, and draw floor plans for interior design.

Future: This summer I want to work two jobs and make lots of money. I will also play 'mas' at Caribana. Some day I'd like to open up my own spa and specialize in hair and aesthetics.

Pet Peeves: When people are hypocritical, judgmental or followers.

I loved your BIO + i hope you do good at your driving test and get your G1 soon! And i agree, lots of struggles in my life come from friends and gossip, but I learn to ignore it because I dont care what people think of me. I'm ME and thats what I want to get across. I dont want people thinking I would change myself to be friends with them or to be cool. And also-- You are soo pretty<3 and you're so photogenic and amazing!

When i read your article it was just like reading about myself. I am alot like you. Exept i am only in grade nine. School is tough. And Drama, and rumors, and gossip, are alot worse!! When i read your msg, it helped me realize alot of things. : ) btw, you are very pretty!
