9 Steps to Getting Your Fall Wardrobe Ready



Summer’s almost over but Fall brings new fashion! And although budgets may be tight, a few simple updates will help you to stretch your dollar while you strut your style.


Keep the Dresses Out
Don’t put away your summer dresses just yet! Throw on a pair of tights & a cute shrug or cropped jacket & you’re set for those cool fall days.

Colour is Key
Just because the skies get darker, don’t let your style fade out. Those bright colours from summer stay strong for fall, especially yellow, fuchsia, purple & cobalt blue. Pair it with slate grey, black, navy blue or if you dare, winter white!

Jeans, jeans, jeans!
Jeans are always in style and this season features both wide-legs (great for anyone who’s fuller on the hips) and skinnier jeans for those on the petite side.

Button it Up!
Big buttons are a hot trend this fall and an easy & economic way to update your favourite sweater or jacket.

Scarves for Style
Scarves are a trend with staying power! Wear your scarves from summer or choose heavier wools for cooler temps. Add some variety with both solids & stripes.

It's All in the Layers
Layering is a great way for you to look stylish & easily adapt to the change in weather. Layer your summer tees over long-sleeved tees or turtlenecks. Or double-up your tees and add an embellished hoodie or jean jacket.

Try a Fedora!
Add a little ‘flava’ with a fedora! You’ll see them everywhere in memory of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Bling All the Way
Break out the bling! Statement jewellery is hot this fall and an inexpensive way to boost your fall wardrobe. Go for big, bold pieces, multi-layered necklaces, chandelier earrings, metallic bracelets & cuffs. You can even use a home embellishment kit to add some sparkle to necklines, shoes and hats.

Why Pay Full Price?
To find great deals on fall fashions try shopping at discount stores, vintage shops or check out the clearance racks at your favourite retailer. Great bargains happen at end of the season, so take a look at summer sales to find year-round pieces. Look for things like medium-weight fabrics, long or ¾ sleeves; denim & hoodies or cardies are always a sure bet.

Enjoy our short but sweet summer and embrace the change in season. With it come new ways to express ourselves through our own personal style!

You really should do an article on uniforms. So many girls have to wear them, yet there's never articles or information about them. I can never relate to articles about back to school clothes or supplies because I'm one of the thousands of kids in Canada who go to a private school and wear uniforms and are given supplies.
