Real Girl: Cadence
Age: 14 Grade: 9 Sign: Virgo
Faves: My favourite colour is orange, my favourite food is pizza and my favourite TV show is 'If You Really Knew Me'. My favourite season is the summer and my favourite holiday is Christmas :)
Hobbies: I love to sing. Music is a real passion of mine and can easily calm me down after a stressful day. Writing is another hobby of mine. I love reading and writing stories, it is another way that I can de-stress.
School and Stuff: My favourite subject is definitely English. It gives me a chance to be creative and show off my talent and what I have a passion for. I won the English award at graduation and I won an essay writing assignment with 'Knights of Columbus', both of which I am very proud of. I love school because opportunities are always being presented towards me. I enjoy learning and want to get all of the knowledge I possibly can out of life.
Personality: Most of my friends would say that I'm a lot of fun. I am always laughing and striving to make people laugh. I am a good listener and enjoy helping people solve problems or just be a listening ear when people need it. I am also hard working, dedicated and I have a positive outlook on life.
Life Challenge: A few years back, I lost my grandmother. She was the first person I had ever lost and she meant a lot to me. After that happened, I began having a rather negative outlook on life. I seemed to always be forgetting to find that silver lining on that dark cloud. My negative outlook caused me to start hanging around people who didn't fully understand life's purpose and often found themselves in bad situations. I felt trapped. I had lost my grandmother and was also having trouble overcoming the little things. I was angry with the world and felt as if being friends with people who had the same outlook as myself at the time would numb the feeling. But it never did. Soon enough I realized that I wasn't the same as my friends I had at that time. I wanted something out of life and they just cared about having 'fun' at whatever costs. I began seeing a counselor and found myself gaining a more positive outlook. I slowly began drifting away from those friends, they were all nice enough people, but I needed people with a positive outlook that had similar hopes and dreams as I did. My advice to a girl who has ever felt trapped in a group of friends or has simply felt trapped inside themselves being their own worst enemy, would be to find a person who you can share anything with. Like a parent or a counselor. When you admit your problems to someone else, you can soon admit to yourself the problem and strive to fix it. Also, always remember to have a positive outlook on life and always remember that every minute you spend unhappy is 60 seconds of happiness you will never get back!
Proud of: I am proud that I got first place at a singing competition called the Festival of the Arts at various times.
So Cadence: Happiness isn't a chance, its a choice. I LOVE sleeping in. I love my friends and family and they mean the world to me. Those things are sooo ME!
Cool fact about Cadence: Something people wouldn't know about me is that my great grandfather was born and raised in Ireland, and wanted to keep Irish traditions alive in his family.
Future: I want to attend university. Even though I'm not sure what I want to be yet, university is a definite goal of mine. I also hope to travel all around the world. The world is such a huge place with so many beautiful countries and cultures, and I want to see as many of them as I can.
Pet Peeves: Nails on a chalkboard, People in hallways walking REALLLLY slow in front of me, negativity and spelling mistakes in published books. :)
