Real Girl: Mariah

Age: 17 Grade: 12 Sign: Sagittarius/Capricorn
Favourites: My favourite colour is purple, my favourite food is lemon merengue pie, I love all kinds of music, especially R&B, rock and country, I don’t watch a lot of TV but my favourite show is ‘House’ and I love watching movies. I love animals and my favourite are cougars.
Hobbies: I really like hanging with my friends and my BF, going to see movies, family bbqs, playing soccer at the park, video games and baby sitting.
School & Stuff: My favourite subject is science. I joined the rowing club last year but I prefer to go to school events to watch. I was sometimes lazy when it came to school but when I put my mind to it for projects and tests I did really well.
Personality: My friends would say I’m the crazy one, always having fun, not getting into drama. I’m helpful and caring and people come to me to talk about drama when it happens, I’m always there for my family for baby sitting or visiting.
Life Challenge: Weight was always a big challenge for me. I was made fun of and some guys even made a mean song about me one time. I was always sad but I eventually got over it because my friends and family were behind me telling me to ignore it all. I ended up transferring classes, making new friends and I have since lost weight. My message to others is to concentrate on the positive, it gets easier, and ignore the mean people!
Proud of: I’m proud that I got through my weight issues at school, that I’m getting through school, and who I am as a person. I know some girls who had babies and I’m proud that I was more responsible and thought about my future and made the right decisions. I’m also proud of my brothers for being good, getting through school, trying hard, and doing sports.
So Mariah: My red hair, randomly dancing around, singing when I’m bored, my cool pink furry bucket hat I wore all the time when I was younger, my belief in family, my always changing nail polish, and being up early even if I was up late are all SO ME!
Cool Fact about Mariah: I lived with my aunt in Boston for a while, in Edmonton with my Mom, I went to 8 different schools and I have lots of stuffed animals in my room.
Future: I’d like to go to college to be a registered massage therapist (when I was little I wanted to be a ballerina or a vet, but when I found out I had to give the pets needles I changed my mind!). I would also like to travel to Australia and Italy, and some day have kids.
Pet Peeve: Arguing with my mom, doing the dishes.
