How To Make Your Own Bath Salts
We all love a nice, hot bath once in a while. Forget rushing in and out of the shower... a long, fabulous soak in the tub is not only soothing on the nerves but is also great for the skin. And if you use fragrant bath salts, you'll smell terrific too!
DIY! How about making your own bath salts? It's super easy, so grab a couple of your BFF's and try this out!
Ingredients
3 cups of Epsom Salts
½ cup of Sea Salt
1 cup of Baking Soda
10 drops of your favourite scent of Essential Oils (like lavender, pink grapefruit, lemon, or vanilla)
Glass containers like mason jars, with lids or caps
A big mixing bowl (NOT plastic)
A metal mixing spoon (NOT wood or plastic)
Directions
1. Stir the dry ingredients together really well.
2. Drop in the essential oil a couple of drops at a time, while stirring really well before you add more. You can try using a big metal whisk to get all the lumps out.
3. Carefully spoon the mixture into your jars.
4. When you are ready to take a bath, adjust the water to the temperature you like, then add about a half cup of your new fabulously scented bath salts under the running water. Smells heavenly!
5. For added total relaxation, don't forget your bath pillow or as a substitute simply roll a facecloth or small towel and place it at the nape of your neck. Ahhhh...
The holidays are coming up… why not make extra for gifts? Gather some of those cute little bottles, cap them, decorate them with stickers, glitter glue or a label, then tie a ribbon around the tops and voila!... a really nice and homemade gift by YOU.
Have fun!
